Charms - Because Sometimes One Word Is Enough

Because sometimes a single word can be more honest than a hundred.

Resin Charms - simple but meaningful

This week's product is my resin charms.

They're simple pieces, each carrying just one or two words. A word of love. A word of encouragement. A word of support. A word of friendship. A hope for the future.

I started making them because I wanted to give someone a gift that expressed how I felt without having to find a speech. I've never been someone who uses lots of words. I'd rather say one thing that means everything than a hundred things that mean very little.

The very first charm I made was for someone who was carrying more than most people knew. On the outside they kept smiling and moving forward, but I could see the fear and exhaustion behind their eyes.

The word I chose was Trust.

Trust yourself. Trust the process. Trust that I'll be here.

It was only one word, but it said everything I wanted it to say.

Finding that one perfect word isn't always easy, but once you've found it, it's strangely liberating. Nothing else needs to be added.

Making the charms is one of my favourite parts of working with resin. I have moulds in different shapes and, somehow, the word always seems to choose the shape.

Words about love belong in hearts.

Friendship feels like a circle.

Encouragement suits a rectangle.

Hopes and dreams seem happiest in an oval.

Perhaps that's just how my mind works, but it makes perfect sense to me.

The word also decides the colours. More reflective words often become rich purples with bold lettering and no glitter—they deserve centre stage. More uplifting words might become warm oranges with a little sparkle, quietly lifting the message rather than competing with it.

The charms are wonderfully tactile too, and they're far more versatile than people first imagine.

I have several of my own.

A red Be You charm hangs from my keys, reminding me each day that I'm enough.

A yellow heart saying Keep Going hangs

from my dialysis bag, giving me encouragement when I need it most.

A blue Create charm hangs in my workshop, reminding me why I started this business.

They can become keyrings, bag charms, car decorations, luggage tags, Christmas decorations, or simply something to keep close by.

Although each charm is small, it takes around a week to make. There are layers of coloured resin, embellishments, carefully placed lettering and finally a crystal-clear top layer. But the longest part isn't pouring the resin—it's choosing the right word, the right shape and the right colours. Those decisions matter most.

Because they're so personal, they suit almost any occasion.

A birthday might call for Vintage.

A wedding might be Adventure.

A retirement could simply say And Breathe.

The possibilities are endless because every person has their own story.

What I love most about these charms is how honest they are. They prove that the smallest gifts can sometimes carry the biggest meaning.
